I finished my first week at the farm... found out that I am allergic to hay and cows can projectile poop 3 feet. Over all they were pretty nice except for when I took their rectal temp. Dr Goodger instructed us to spit in the thermometer before we inserted it - which I found really confusing seeing as there was lube on our treatment cart.
Today I dried off a cow by the name of snowflake - I cleaned each teat, injected Spectramast DC (dry cow) and orbeseal, and then dipped them in stronghold (which looks like hot pink liquid latex) to seal them and prevent mastitis. Wow who would have guessed that would have been playing with boobs all week long - maybe they should use that to recruit more boys into vet school (that may also explain the number of lesbians in my class?).
